Prayers for 12 July 2020
WELCOME TO THIS SACRED SPACE OF TIME AS WE SHARE TOGETHER
Friends as we continue to self-isolate during this season, I want to remind you that we are not alone. Our Heavenly Father and the presence of His Holy Spirit abides with us all the time. A patient in a Manchester Hospital once said, “However bad it is, a bit of courage makes it better”. And so we continue on with courage.
Let us now settle our hearts and minds in this moment and open ourselves up to hearing what God is saying to us today. Let us pray:
We raise your name this morning as the lover of our souls, as our provider, our rescuer in the storms of life and our redeemer from all our woes.
Your name Lord Jesus means power, deliverer, healer and restorer. We declare that there is no god above you. You are worthy of our praise and indeed, our whole lives.
So we come to you in humility today asking for the forgiveness of our sins as we truly repent and seek to follow you anew.
Heavenly Father, help us now to open our hearts to hear your message specifically for us today. We pray in Jesus name, Amen.
Give us such perfect faith in you, that we may trust you in all things,
When our days are filled with joy, may we praise you, when life flows along smoothly, may we trace the moving of your loving hand,
But when the way seems hard, may we lean on you, when we cannot see the way before us, may we trust you to guide us, when trials and difficulties overwhelm us, may we find in you our Refuge.
When dark clouds gather around us, may we feel the upholding strength of your everlasting arms, and prove that all things work together for good to them who love you.
And so Lord, we raise to you those in our community who are struggling at this time with illness, loneliness or emotional turmoil. May you be there peace.
We ask you to console those around the world who are grieving loved ones lost to Coronavirus. Holy Spirit please bring them heavenly comfort that touches human hearts in a profound way.
We pray for world leaders to turn their minds to you so that you may guide them with Godly decisions as they navigate nations through the COVID19 crisis.
We bring to you all whom we love and care for and ask that your loving kindness will touch their lives and bring us true hope. In Jesus name, Amen.
